Fisherman Anton Brain Osmond, 47, of Beetham Gardens, left home at 7 a.m. on Friday, March 20, to retrieve his boat from Alcan Fishing Depot on Western Main Road, Chaguaramas, and head out to fish. He failed to return, and his mother reported him missing to Carenage Police Station on Saturday, March 21. His boat was found drifting empty near Five Islands. Osmond's partially decomposed body was recovered at approximately 6:11 p.m. on Monday, March 23, about 200 metres off Five Islands. He was dressed in brown shorts and a black vest and was barefoot. He was positively identified by his mother and brother. Authorities are investigating the death. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death remain unclear.
