Kenneth Gill of Trincity and Bernard Mahabir (also known as 'Sumir') of Tunapuna were found murdered inside a burnt white Nissan Tiida (registration PCX 9805) on Valencia Old Road, North Oropouche on Monday, April 27, 2026. The men were last seen leaving Lopinot Village on Sunday, April 26, at approximately 5 p.m. in the vehicle with Gill driving; they never reached their intended destination and family members reported them missing after repeated failed contact attempts. Police discovered the charred remains of the vehicle containing both bodies during the search operation. Investigators are working to determine the exact circumstances of the killings and whether the vehicle found is the same one the men were last seen in. The discovery escalated what began as a missing persons case into a double homicide investigation. ATM cards belonging to the victims were reportedly used in Arima and Sangre Grande, suggesting criminal activity following the murders.
