Palmyra VillageTwo Men Shot in Brazen Daylight Attack; Both Survive

Property in Palmyra Village, near Naparima-Mayaro Road, Palmyra , Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

Two men were shot outside a residence in Palmyra Village on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at approximately 5:45 p.m. while liming beneath a galvanised shed adjacent to a house. A masked gunman emerged from a silver Nissan Tiida that drove into the driveway, pulled out a firearm, and opened fire at close range, striking one victim in the groin and the other in the head. Despite the severity of their injuries, both men survived and were rushed to San Fernando General Hospital by relatives for emergency medical treatment. The gunman returned to the vehicle where an accomplice was waiting and the pair fled westerly along the Naparima-Mayaro Road before police arrived. Officers from the Ste Madeleine Police Station responded to the scene and launched investigations into the motive and identities of the suspects; no arrests have been made.
