Underground electrical cables were deliberately severed at the Fairfield Housing Development in Craignish, Princes Town on Saturday, June 20, 2026, leaving approximately 450 customers without power. The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) Distribution South Area teams discovered the damage after responding to an outage report shortly after overnight restoration work had been completed. Investigations confirmed that the cables had been intentionally cut, disrupting electricity supply to the entire residential community. T&TEC repair crews worked to restore the damaged infrastructure, with electricity expected to return in phases from 10:00 a.m. and completion targeted for midday. The Commission urged residents with information about the vandalism to contact T&TEC at 474-8467 and provide anonymous details.
