A 32-year-old police constable attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch was robbed and beaten while conducting a clothing sale in Galera Park, Toco on Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. The officer was selling two black jerseys printed with 'Scarface' and two pairs of blue jeans valued at $1,600 when he was confronted by two men—one slim-built wearing a red and grey hooded jersey, and the other stocky and armed with a cutlass wearing a dark grey jersey and black balaclava. During the struggle, the officer was struck in the face and sustained a cut to his right middle finger. The suspects made off with $3,000 in cash, $1,600 in clothing, $150 US, and an additional $400 from the victim's wallet before escaping through nearby bushes. The constable reported the incident at the Toco Police Station, where officers launched a search in the vicinity. The officer was offered medical attention but declined treatment.
