Officers of the Blanchisseuse Police Station conducted a search at a WASA pumping station off Paria Main Road on February 28, 2026, as part of Operation Steady Guard anti-crime exercises. Acting on information received, officers searched an abandoned concrete structure on the compound and discovered two black plastic bags hidden beneath a cluster of chopped coconut tree branches. The first bag contained nine 12-gauge shotgun cartridges, while the second contained two transparent plastic bags of compressed cannabis weighing approximately one kilogramme. All items were seized and taken to the Blanchisseuse Police Station for processing.
