CunupiaEight-Man Home Invasion Ring Targeted; Four Killed, Two Arrested

Charles Street, Cunupia, Jerningham Junction, Chaguanas

A home invasion occurred on Charles Street, Cunupia on Saturday, May 2, 2026, involving eight suspects caught on CCTV footage moving toward the location early in the morning. Police and Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force personnel engaged the suspects during an active joint security operation. Four suspects were fatally shot during the operation, with the final shooting occurring around 12:30 PM when a suspect engaged officers. Two suspects were arrested and taken into custody, while two others remain at large. DCP Suzette Martin confirmed the operation is ongoing with coordinated search and containment exercises to locate the remaining fugitives.
