Man shot in legs during liming incident (Phillip John, 38)

Cameron Road, near LP #14 (bridge), Petit Valley, Cameron , Diego Martin

Phillip John, 38, of Cameron Road was shot and wounded while liming with friends on a bridge near LP #14 on Saturday morning, May 31st, 2025, around 9:30 a.m. He heard several loud explosions coming from the bushes behind him and attempted to run but was struck by gunfire. John was shot in the buttocks and left thigh. He managed to seek refuge in a nearby shop where he discovered his injuries. He was transported to St. James Infirmary and later transferred to Port of Spain General Hospital for further treatment. A pet dog at a nearby property was also struck by three bullets during the incident and required emergency surgery. Police investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
