Man charged with robbery with violence during custody dispute (31-year-old woman)

Home in the Valencia area, Valencia, Sangre Grande

A 31-year-old woman reported being assaulted at her home in Valencia on Tuesday, June 3rd around 7:00 p.m. when the father of her child arrived to pick up their daughter. During an argument, the man allegedly struck her multiple times on the head and neck with an object resembling a screwdriver, causing injuries that required medical treatment at the Arima Health Facility. The suspect then allegedly stole her Samsung S9 smartphone valued at $2,200 and fled the scene. The woman immediately reported the incident to the Valencia Police Post, and officers from the Valencia CID launched an investigation. Acting on information gathered, officers from the Valencia CID and the Special Operations Unit (SOU) arrested the suspect and recovered the stolen phone. He was subsequently charged with robbery with violence.
