A 17-year-old boy was shot in the lower left leg during a home invasion at his Hellshire Avenue residence in Tarodale on Thursday, July 16, 2026, around 2:55 a.m. The teenager and his 50-year-old mother were awakened by loud banging on a door on the southern side of the house when a masked man dressed in dark clothing forced entry. Several loud explosions were heard after the intruder entered; the teenager fled the home and sought refuge in the Stoney Hill area of Tarodale. Officers from the Ste Madeleine Police Station responded and found the teenager suffering from a gunshot injury to his lower left leg. Police checks at the home revealed apparent gunshot marks on the door. The teenager was transported to San Fernando General Hospital for medical treatment; police continue investigations into the incident.
