Man shot dead in Monte Grant, Tunapuna (Kwami Huyjhew, 27)

Lovell Street, Monte Grant, Trincity, Tunapuna - Piarco

Kwami Huyjhew, a 27-year-old man from 48 A By-pass Road, Arima, was shot and killed on Lovell Street, Monte Grant, in the early hours of Thursday morning. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was brought to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex around 11:51 p.m., where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Officers responded to the shooting scene and recovered several spent shell casings, including twelve spent 9mm shells and two deformed projectiles. A silver Nissan B15 involved in the incident was also recovered at the scene. The investigation is being handled by Homicide Region 2, along with officers from the Special Emergency Response Unit (SERU) and the Northern Division CID. No arrests have been reported at this time.
