A 25-year-old woman parked her black Toyota Yaris Cross valued at $199,000 on 4th Avenue, Orchard Gardens in Chaguanas around 8:19 p.m. on Monday. A grey Nissan B15 drove alongside her and another woman, and an armed man exited the vehicle pointing a firearm at them and announcing a robbery. Fearing for her life, the Toyota owner dropped her keys and ran, jumping into a nearby drain to hide while the armed suspect took the vehicle and drove off in a westerly direction. A second suspect forcefully removed the other victim's handbag before escaping in the Nissan in an easterly direction. The armed suspect was described as a man of African descent, approximately 5 ft 9 in tall, slim build, dark complexion, wearing a grey hoodie and ski mask. The second suspect, also of African descent with dark brown complexion, was wearing a hoodie and was the driver. Police are investigating the robbery with aggravation. No arrests have been made.
