Police find 72 marijuana plants in Arima house; one man charged

Alfred Street, off Olton Road, Arima, D'Abadie , Tunapuna - Piarco

Police officers from the Transit Police Task Force and the Arima Criminal Investigations Department conducted an operation at a residence on Alfred Street, off Olton Road, around 4 a.m. on March 10, 2026. During the exercise, officers uncovered a marijuana nursery containing 72 cannabis plants along with approximately 400 grammes of dried marijuana. A man was charged with drug trafficking following the discovery. The operation was coordinated by Superintendent Robert Joseph of the Transit Police Unit and supervised by Sergeant Kurt Virgil.
