A 22-year-old woman was assaulted and held against her will by her partner at an apartment on SS Erin Road, Debe on Monday night around 9:00 p.m. The man armed himself with a cutlass, threatened her life, and forced her into the apartment after a domestic dispute turned physical. The woman managed to escape and raised an alarm, attracting a nearby off-duty police officer who intervened. During the struggle, the suspect struck the officer while attempting to grab the woman again. Both the woman and the officer were injured and taken to San Fernando General Hospital for treatment. The suspect then attempted to force entry into another apartment, damaging a window with the cutlass before retreating.
