TunapunaMan Alex Samaroo Stabbed to Death; Suspect Richard Rampersad in Custody

Balgobin Street off Centenary Street, St Augustine, Tunapuna - Piarco

Alex Samaroo, resident of Balgobin Street off Centenary Street in Tunapuna, was stabbed to death on April 30. The alleged suspect, Richard Rampersad (aka Chubby), claims the stabbing was in self-defense after Samaroo and another man attacked him. Police are investigating the circumstances. Rampersad has agreed to surrender to authorities. The case is under review pending clarification of the facts to determine whether charges will be murder or manslaughter.
