Masud Prosper, 49, a Ministry of Health driver from Belmont, was shot and killed at Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon while waiting to collect his 9-year-old son from football practice. Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots; Prosper was found inside his black Lancer vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The shooting occurred in a heavily secured area near the Office of the Prime Minister, the President's House, Whitehall, and the Strategic Services Agency headquarters. Police have cordoned off the scene and the Homicide Bureau is investigating; no motive has been established and no arrests have been made.
