SRP officer robbed of $7,000 in jewelry (Port of Spain)

George Street, near Back to Basic store, Port of Spain

An SRP officer was robbed on Thursday, June 5th, 2025 at approximately 12:00 p.m. while walking along George Street near the Back to Basic store in Port of Spain. A man of African descent, wearing a black jersey and blue ¾ pants, approached the officer from behind and snatched a gold chain and gold ring from her person. The stolen jewelry was valued at approximately $7,000 TT. The suspect fled the scene on foot heading east. Cpl Rahim is continuing investigations into the incident.
