Marlon Hamlyn, 51, of Greenvale, La Horquetta, was shot and killed in broad daylight on Charlotte Street, Port of Spain next to Expreas House on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at approximately 2 p.m. Hamlyn had just entered a taxi and was preparing to travel to San Juan when an unidentified gunman approached the vehicle and opened fire on him. The taxi driver immediately drove the wounded man toward Port of Spain General Hospital under police escort in an attempt to save his life. Hamlyn succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Police are continuing investigations into the killing; no arrests have been made.
