A 31-year-old man from Tabaquite was attacked with a cutlass by a 40-year-old close male relative in the yard of his home around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2026. The relative struck the victim several times on the head and hand before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained a five-centimetre laceration to the left side of his forehead with skull fracture, and an eight-centimetre laceration to his right hand. He was taken to Chaguanas Health Facility and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in a stable but serious condition. The suspect was subsequently arrested and Constable Krishna is continuing investigations.
