San FernandoTwo Arrested in Cable Theft Operation

Two men were arrested in San Fernando on Wednesday after police observed four individuals handling several lengths of cable at an unspecified location. Upon seeing the marked police vehicle, two suspects fled on foot while another ran to a nearby silver Nissan AD Wagon, which was immediately approached and searched by officers. A bolt cutter and hacksaw were discovered inside the vehicle and seized as evidence. The suspects were identified as a 27-year-old from Orchid Gardens, Pleasantville, and a 51-year-old from Cedar Hill, Princes Town. Both men were cautioned, arrested and taken to San Fernando Police Station along with the recovered cable and tools. Representatives of TSTT attended the station to assess the value of the recovered cables and assist with the investigation. The operation was conducted by Woman Sergeant Boodoo, Police Constable Hosein and Police Constable Cooper.
