Marabella13-Year-Old Krishan Khanai Shot Dead; Father, Stepmother Critical

Tramline Road, Union Park East, Marabella, San Fernando

Krishan Khanai, 13, was shot and killed at his family's home on Tramline Road, Union Park East, Marabella on Thursday, June 11, 2026 shortly before midnight. His father Krishna Khanai and common-law wife Leela Pariag were also shot during the attack and remain in critical condition at San Fernando General Hospital's Intensive Care Unit. Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 11:41 p.m. and discovered Krishan lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds inside the wooden house. The injured adults were found inside the residence and transported to hospital for urgent medical treatment. Crime Scene Investigators recovered several spent 9mm shell casings from the scene, which have been seized as evidence. The District Medical Officer pronounced Krishan dead and ordered his body removed to the San Fernando Mortuary pending post-mortem examination. The family had recently moved to the area and earned a living through the sale of doubles prepared and sold from the residence. Investigations are ongoing.
