A ride-share driver was robbed and carjacked on Rigsby Street, Gonzales on Saturday night after responding to a customer request through a mobile app and picking up a passenger on Eight Street, Barataria. Upon arrival at the designated location, the passenger placed a strap around the driver's neck and began strangling him while two armed bandits approached the vehicle and dragged him out. The bandits tied the man's hands and feet, stole his keys and vehicle, and fled the scene. The stolen vehicle was recovered and towed to Besson Street Police Station shortly after the incident. Officers from the Port of Spain CID are investigating; no arrests have been made.
