A cutlass-wielding man, believed to be a Trinidad and Tobago national, launched a violent unprovoked attack on a group of Venezuelan nationals who were socializing outside a bar opposite the Arima Magistrate's Court on Sunday, June 8th, 2025, just after 7 a.m. CCTV footage shows the attacker first striking a woman on her back with the broad side of a cutlass, then lunging at a man who escaped by jumping onto a table and over a gate. The suspect continued his rampage, targeting multiple other individuals in the group while attempting to strike several people as they fled. The attack was captured on CCTV but no report was made to police at the time of the incident, according to the article.
