Joseph Jason Apping, a 50-year-old truck driver, was found shot dead at his business premises, JR Tire Services, located on Jerningham Junction Road in Cunupia on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025. Gunshots were heard in the area just after midnight, but the victim was not discovered until approximately 8:30 a.m. when a man found him inside the premises. Apping was found lying on his back in a pool of blood, wearing only black shorts. Several spent shell casings were recovered around his body, indicating multiple shots were fired. Police were alerted at 9:15 a.m. and secured the scene. The District Medical Officer pronounced Apping dead at the location. Homicide investigators are probing the circumstances and motive behind the killing.
