A businessman was followed from Republic Bank Limited in Trincity to Chaguanas by suspects in a blue Toyota Aqua (registration PDX 3186) on June 10, 2025. The suspects smashed the businessman's vehicle glass during the robbery, searching for an envelope containing thousands of dollars that they believed was inside. The suspects came up empty-handed as the cash had been stashed elsewhere, not in the vehicle. The Toyota Aqua was traced to a rental company, and 29-year-old Joseph Andre Claxton of Second Street, Barataria was identified as the person who rented the vehicle and drove it during the attack. Police investigation identified Claxton as the driver of the rental vehicle used in the follow-and-rob operation targeting the businessman leaving the bank.
