A 52-year-old Chaguanas resident parked his SUV at a jobsite along Lange Park, Chaguanas around 1:20 p.m. on Friday and left the vehicle secured with a bag containing a pistol, two magazines with 34 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and $25,000 cash on the passenger seat. Within 20 minutes of his departure, the driver's side window was broken and the bag was stolen from inside the vehicle. The stolen items were valued at approximately $41,000 total ($16,000 for the firearm and ammunition, $25,000 in cash). Constable Mendoza is continuing investigations into the theft; no arrests have been made.
