A 25-year-old woman was walking west along Independence Square North near Deuces Casino with a co-worker around 1:12 p.m. on Monday, June 16th. As they made way for a pedestrian, a man suddenly turned and snatched a gold cocoa head I.D. band valued at $4,500 from her left wrist. The suspect fled east along Independence Square and then north onto Charlotte Street with the stolen item. The theft was reported to police, who are investigating the incident and searching for the suspect.
