MaravalMan Robbed of $94,000 Cash in Daylight Bank Car Park Attack

A man was robbed of $94,000 in cash and personal items outside First Citizens Bank on Maraval Road, New Town, Port of Spain on Thursday, June 18 at approximately 11:51 a.m. The victim had just parked his Honda Vezel and was walking toward the bank entrance carrying a knapsack containing approximately $40,000 in TT currency and US$7,800 when a gold-coloured Nissan Tiida sedan pulled alongside him. Two men exited the vehicle, approached the victim and announced a robbery. Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over the knapsack containing the cash along with his Trinidad and Tobago passport, Royal Bank credit card, Scotia Bank credit card and Scotia Bank debit card. The suspects then returned to the vehicle and fled the area. Police from the St Clair Police District are continuing investigations into the robbery; no arrests have been made.
