A 24-year-old woman identified as Kavita Mohammed was arrested after defrauding a 21-year-old man from Chase Village of an iPhone 15 Plus valued at $3,500 during a fake sale arrangement at Egypt Trace, Endeavour, Chaguanas on May 20, 2026. The victim met the suspect around 11:50 a.m. after arranging the sale through contact with someone identified as 'Kavita' and handed over the device for inspection. The suspect claimed she was going inside an apartment to collect payment but instead fled through a nearby track with the phone, leaving the victim unable to reach her on the contact number used. Officers from the Chaguanas CID launched an investigation after a report was filed, and arrested Mohammed at Riverside Almond Drive, Endeavour, Chaguanas around 8:00 p.m. the same day.
