Princes Town16-Year-Old Schoolboy Shot in Drive-By; 13 Shells Recovered

A 16-year-old schoolboy was shot in the left knee during a drive-by shooting on Iere Avenue, Princes Town on Sunday, May 31, 2026 around 9:30 p.m. The teenager was standing on the street when a black motor vehicle entered and made a turn before speeding off in a northerly direction; moments later he heard loud explosions and felt a burning sensation in his left knee as the vehicle continued toward Iere Village, Branch Road. The injured teen sought help from a neighbour who transported him to Princes Town District Health Facility, where medical officials treated him for two puncture wounds to the left knee. Officers attended the scene and recovered 13 spent shell casings from the location. Police are investigating the shooting; no surveillance cameras were observed at the location or its immediate surroundings, and the vehicle's make, model, and registration number remain unknown.
