ArimaWoman Chopped During Late-Night Attack; Suspect Held

Residential address (victim's home), Arima

Woman Petula St Rose was attacked and chopped at her Arima home on Friday, May 29, 2026, shortly before 11 p.m., sustaining injuries to her head and wrist. The suspect, Daryel Taylor, allegedly arrived at the residence looking for another woman who had recently returned from the United States and confronted St Rose during the incident. St Rose was rushed for medical treatment and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, for specialist care. Police responding to the report detained Taylor and recovered a cutlass believed to have been used in the attack.
