MalabarIntoxicated Son Damages $7,195 in Property, Assaults Mother

Poui Lane, Malabar, Arima

Nicholas Paul allegedly assaulted his 56-year-old mother and destroyed thousands of dollars in property at a residence on Poui Lane, Malabar, Arima on Saturday, May 31 at approximately 5:30 a.m. Paul returned home heavily intoxicated and engaged in an argument with his mother, directing obscene language at her before allegedly punching and damaging a 65-inch flat-screen television valued at just over $4,000. He then allegedly smashed the front and rear windshields and a rear quarter glass window of a Nissan AD Wagon parked at the property, causing an estimated $3,195 in additional damage. Responding officers found Paul on the roadway near the residence with injuries to both hands and arms; he was arrested at the scene and taken to Arima Health Facility for medical treatment before being conveyed to Malabar Police Post.
