ArimaTaxi Driver Assaulted, Robbed of Nissan Wingroad by Three Carjackers

Broadway Street and Woodford Street / Agua Santa Extension, Arima

A 36-year-old taxi driver from Arima was assaulted and robbed of his white Nissan Wingroad (registration PDK 4016) on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at approximately 8:45 PM after three men posing as passengers hijacked him at the corner of Broadway Street and Woodford Street. The suspects requested transport to Agua Santa Extension, but while travelling north along that route, they announced a robbery and one bandit pointed a firearm at the victim's head. A struggle ensued during which the driver was beaten and injured by the assailants. The suspects stole the vehicle, a blue Samsung Galaxy A52 cellphone, the driver's permit, and national identification card before forcing the victim out and escaping. Police are investigating the carjacking and assault; no arrests have been made at the time of reporting.
