Three men were arrested during an intelligence-led police operation on Chin Chin Road, Cunupia on Wednesday after officers discovered that registration plates on two luxury BMW vehicles did not correspond with the vehicles themselves. The operation, conducted between 3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., involved officers from the Home Invasion Team, Multi-Operational Police Service (MOPS), and the Anti-Extortion Unit acting on intelligence relating to firearms, ammunition, and stolen vehicles. Police checks through the South and Central Operations Centre revealed that the licence plates were affixed to vehicles other than those to which they were registered, giving officers reasonable grounds to suspect the vehicles may have been stolen and potentially used in criminal activities. The three men—two 26-year-olds residing at the property and a 28-year-old from Diego Martin—were taken into custody; the two BMWs and a white Nissan Sylphy were seized and conveyed to Cunupia Police Station. No firearms or ammunition were found during the search of the premises.
