CaratalMan Shot Twice During Home Invasion; Gunmen Demand Cash, Drugs

Caratal, (residential home), Gasparillo, Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

A 48-year-old man was shot multiple times during a violent home invasion at his Caratal, Gasparillo residence around 2 a.m. on June 5 when two armed intruders forced entry demanding money, drugs, and valuables. One gunman repeatedly struck the victim in the face with a firearm before opening fire, striking him in the neck during the confrontation. As the wounded man attempted to flee the house, the assailant continued firing, hitting him again in the abdomen. A female occupant escaped through another exit after hearing the commotion; the gunmen attempted to steal a silver Mitsubishi Lancer parked outside but fled on foot when unsuccessful. The injured victim was rushed to San Fernando General Hospital for treatment. Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene and recovered spent shell casings; police continue investigating with no arrests reported.
