A landscaper was shot on the left side of his neck while parked at the roadside in San Juan on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. A stranger dressed in black and wearing a blue surgical mask approached the van, pulled out a gun, and fired at the vehicle as the landscaper attempted to drive away. The wounded landscaper drove himself to the San Juan Police Station and was transported to hospital, treated, and discharged. A clerk who was also in the van at the time was unharmed. Officers from the San Juan CID and the North Eastern Division Crime Scene Investigations Unit attended the scene and recovered 12 spent 9mm shell casings. The suspect remains at large.
