A 26-year-old man was arrested after a violent confrontation outside KFC on Eastern Main Road at the corner of Saddle Road, San Juan on Friday, June 5th, shortly after 7 p.m. left another man with a serious neck wound. The two men became involved in a heated verbal dispute that quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, with both arming themselves—one with a knife and the other with an icepick. During the struggle, both men swung their weapons at each other, and one sustained a wound to the left side of his neck. The injured man was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex by private vehicle, where doctors provided emergency treatment and found him in stable but serious condition. Police visited the hospital and took the 26-year-old suspect into custody; investigations are ongoing.
