A man was shot and struck repeatedly across the face with a firearm during a home invasion in Gasparillo on Wednesday. Suspects demanded money, drugs, and a cellphone from the victim while pistol-whipping him across the face. The assailant then shot the victim on the left side of his neck. A woman who was present escaped unharmed by running from the house. The suspects attempted to steal the victim's vehicle as they fled but were unsuccessful. The victim was transported to San Fernando General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police recovered five spent shell casings at the scene. Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
