Three men were detained on Matura Main Road during a North Coast anti-crime operation on Thursday, June 11, 2026, between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Officers conducting a roving patrol and road check exercise intercepted and searched a black Hyundai motor vehicle after receiving information. During the search, police discovered approximately 2.4 kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of TT$71,844.00. The three occupants—a 24-year-old driver, a 25-year-old front-seat passenger, and a 22-year-old rear-seat passenger—were all detained in connection with the find. Investigations are continuing into the offence of Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Trafficking. The operation was conducted under the direction of ACP Singh, Senior Superintendent Etienne, Superintendent Beharry and Assistant Superintendent Russell.
