ScarboroughMan Shot Multiple Times by Gunman in Red Hoodie (Jamal John, 37)

Dutch Fort Street and Milford Road, Scarborough, Tobago

Jamal John, 37, of Plymouth Road, Tobago, was shot multiple times on the corner of Dutch Fort Street and Milford Road in Scarborough on Tuesday night, June 23, 2026, around 9:06 p.m. A masked gunman dressed in a red hoodie approached John and his girlfriend and opened fire, striking John several times about the body. The gunman fled north along Dutch Fort Street before heading west into the Port Mall car park. John was transported to Scarborough General Hospital where he received medical treatment for his injuries. Officers led by ASP Bacchus, W/Sgt Smith-Toppin, and PC Turpin, along with personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department, Divisional Task Force, Inter Agency Task Force, and Emergency Response Patrol Unit, responded and processed the scene. Investigators recovered one spent shell, one projectile, and one live round of 9mm ammunition; PC Moraldo is continuing investigations.
