Elderly couple Penelope Fraser-Joefield and Lennox Joefield were robbed at gunpoint by two masked bandits at their minimart and food truck on Mt Grace Heights and Mt Grace Trace, Tobago on Wednesday shortly before 10 p.m., with over $2,000 in cash and valuables taken. The bandits demanded money while threatening the couple with a firearm; Penelope was forced to lie on the ground and hand over cash, while Lennox was also threatened at gunpoint but refused to comply. In addition to cash, the bandits stole the couple's cellphones and identification cards. Tobago Police are investigating the robbery; the couple reported this was not their first targeting by criminals, having experienced a break-in at their mini-mart in 2024.
