A 23-year-old man parked his vehicle on Independence Square South, Port of Spain on Monday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. with a female companion inside. He left the vehicle briefly to purchase food from a nearby restaurant, leaving the woman unattended for approximately 15 minutes. Upon his return, the woman had vanished and he discovered $20,000 in cash from the glove compartment was missing, along with an Apple iPad valued at $3,500 and an Apple Watch valued at $3,500 from the back seat—a total loss of $27,000. Police are investigating the circumstances of the disappearance and the theft; enquiries are ongoing to determine what transpired during the unattended period.
