Princes TownT&TEC Equipment Theft at HDC Site—Transformers and Wires Stolen

HDC Glenroy Housing Development, Princes Town, Princes Town

Electrical equipment including 4/0 Triple AC Conductor wires and transformers were discovered missing from the HDC Glenroy Housing Development in Princes Town on Thursday, June 25, 2026, during a police patrol around 1:15 p.m. T&TEC technicians had last observed the equipment—four conductor wires and three transformers—attached to poles in early April 2026. When checks were carried out on Thursday, one transformer and all conductor wires were found missing, and two additional transformers had been removed from the poles with their internal contents stripped and taken. Officers from the Princes Town CID visited the scene and conducted enquiries; the value of the stolen items is yet to be determined. An internal investigation has been launched by T&TEC Police as enquiries continue. This is the third incident where T&TEC cables have been targeted at HDC developments in South Trinidad over the past three weeks, with previous incidents reported at Craignish Village in Princes Town and Corinth in San Fernando.
