Officers from the San Fernando Police Station, Southern Division Task Force, and Criminal Investigation Department seized one firearm and six rounds of ammunition during an intelligence-led operation at a residence on Murli Street, La Romain on Friday morning, July 17, 2026. The operation was conducted at approximately 5:10 a.m. following information received from the Echo Command Centre indicating that a wanted suspect believed to be in possession of an illegal firearm was at the location. Acting on the intelligence and pursuant to Regulation 12 of the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026, officers proceeded to the address and conducted a search. A 35-year-old man of La Romain was arrested in connection with the discovery of the firearm and ammunition. The suspect remains in police custody pending further investigation.
