Carapichaima/Couva1,025g Cannabis Seized in Central Division Operation

Officers of the Central Division Gang Unit conducted Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. Shield exercises on Waterloo Road, Carapichaima and Grant Street Extension, Couva on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Acting on information supported by surveillance, officers observed a beige Hyundai Elantra travelling at high speed and pursued the vehicle, which eventually stopped along Grant Street Extension, Couva. Two occupants exited the vehicle and fled into a nearby bushy area towards a river; despite an extensive search, the suspects were not located. A search of the abandoned vehicle led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing two rectangular packages of cannabis, weighing 1,025 grams total. The vehicle and exhibits were conveyed to the Chaguanas Police Station. Four arrests were made during the operation.
