Stolen Bank Card Used for Fraudulent Purchases in San Juan

San Juan (Transaction) / St. Augustine (Initial Theft), St Augustine, Tunapuna - Piarco

A suspect used a stolen Republic Bank debit card to purchase Puncheon rum and cigarettes at a business in San Juan on Wednesday. The card was equipped with a "tap" feature, allowing the individual to make the transaction without a PIN hours after the card was stolen from a vehicle. The initial theft occurred near the Exodus panyard in St. Augustine, where a car was broken into and several items were removed. Security footage and transaction records are being utilized to identify the man involved in the fraudulent use of the card.
