Teen hospitalized after violent stabbing in St. Augustine (Daniel Sween, 19)

Eastern Main Road near NP Gas Station, St Augustine, Tunapuna - Piarco

A 19-year-old man, Daniel Sween of Caiman Road, St. Joseph, was attacked by a group of unknown men on Eastern Main Road near the NP Gas Station in St. Augustine on Monday, June 16th around 8:00 p.m. Sween was walking with four male friends when they were confronted by the assailants, and a scuffle ensued during which he was stabbed multiple times about the body. The attackers fled in an unknown direction following the assault. Sween sustained multiple stab wounds including a punctured lung, a serious injury requiring immediate medical intervention. He was rushed to St. Augustine Private Hospital and later transferred via Emergency Health Services to Mt. Hope Hospital. Doctors confirmed the severity of his injuries. He remains heavily sedated but is listed in stable condition.
