Armed bandits rob off-duty police sergeant of loaded firearm at Manzanilla beach house

Eastern Main Road, beach house, Lower Manzanilla , Sangre Grande

Around 8:25 p.m. on June 19, 2025, four armed men—two of them masked—stormed a beach house along the Eastern Main Road in Manzanilla through an open rear door. An off-duty police sergeant on pre-retirement leave and his relatives were present at the time. One suspect armed with a firearm announced a robbery and relieved the sergeant of his loaded Glock 19 pistol (serial #YBD258) containing one magazine and 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition, along with his wallet containing identification documents, bank cards, $800 in cash, and a pellet gun permit. Two of the armed men then entered the living room, pointed a firearm at one of the women present, and announced another hold-up. Cellphones, wallets, debit cards, medical IDs, and cash were taken from others in the group, including minors. Police are investigating the incident.
