LaventilleMan Robbed, Punched & Carjacked During Ticket Sale on Hamel Smith Street

Hamel Smith Street near Eastern Main Road, Laventille, Port of Spain

A Port of Spain man was robbed and carjacked on Hamel Smith Street in Laventille near Eastern Main Road on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at approximately 5:06 p.m. while attempting to sell Miami Beach Party tickets to an alleged buyer. Two suspects approached the victim as he stood at his vehicle's driver's door; the first suspect snatched the tickets, shoved him, and punched him in the face before jumping into the driver's seat of his Nissan Note, while a second suspect armed with a cutlass entered the back seat. The suspects fled south along Hamel Smith Street and then west along the Eastern Main Road, taking the victim's wallet containing an undisclosed sum of cash, driver's permit, bank card, and additional unsold party tickets. Officers on mobile patrol recovered the stolen Nissan Note along Mc Allister Street; however, the victim's wallet and its contents were not recovered.
