A 37-year-old Customs Officer and his 34-year-old wife, a Quality Manager, were asleep at their home in Carapichaima when they were awakened around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday by loud noises. Three masked men armed with firearms confronted the couple, announced a robbery, and tied them up in their bedroom. The male victim was beaten multiple times about the body with a crowbar during the assault. The suspects ransacked the house and stole jewellery, an undisclosed amount of Trinidad and Tobago currency, US$10,000, three cellphones (two Samsung S24 and one Samsung J7), and the victims' black Toyota Yaris vehicle valued at $180,000. Investigators believe the suspects gained entry through a door on the balcony.
